Falling Leaves
Two huge, organically curved metal leaves, joined one above the other at oblique angles, made as cut through skeleton leaves.
The leaves have the appearance of gliding down to the ground, twisting as they descend. Whilst majestic, the two leaves look delicate and lacy in structure like skeleton, autumn leaves. Falling Leaves celebrates the cycle of Autumn where leaves fall and feed the ground on which they land. This large-scale, outdoor metal sculpture is designed to blend seamlessly into natural environments. Despite being made in steel, the leaves have a feeling of lightness and allow the surroundings to be seen through the sculpture. The zinc finish of the sculpture is oxidised to a chalky grey which creates a striking contrast against the greens of trees or meadow planting.
