A set of three or more large scale, steel mushroom sculptures for the garden.

Sold as a Trio (in large, medium and small) or priced on request from 3+ individually sized mushrooms. These large metal mushroom caps are made of many thin, shaped pieces of steel welded together in profile and radiating out from a central point. Together the many edges create the shape of a simple mushroom cap above but on the underside they make complex undulating profiles like the intricate gills found on real mushrooms. Each mushroom stands on a tall, thin, heavily textured stalk that contrasts with the clean almost industrial profile edges of the mushroom caps above. The stems curve subtly from ball shapes set part way up their shafts, like knuckle joints adding to the organic appearance of the sculpture.

Siting and fixing

The trio of mushroom is made up of individual mushroom sculptures all of different heights and cap sizes to maintain a natural effect. This is a very versatile piece that works well in open ground, on lawns, in a border or amidst trees. The sculpture comes with stakes that fix through individual base plates on each mushroom sculpture. The base plates range from 70cm x 70cm to 55cm to 55cm. They are usually buried below ground or hidden by bark chippings. The whole piece can be installed in a rust coloured oxidised steel ring to contain the bark chippings and visually draw the three sculptures together as one installation. We can accommodate bespoke requests for fixing and installation into hard ground such as resin anchor fixing into concrete.
